Razer Launches 3 Screen Laptops and VR Projectors

As the CES 2017 draws to a close, one of the stand-out releases at the convention comes from Razer, inc. The company released two major products including Project Valerie, a three monitor gaming laptop, and Project Ariana, a virtual reality projector.

What is Project Valerie?

Called “Project Valerie” it’s a one of a kind of laptop that features three different monitors. In a press release, the gaming company calls their new product “the world’s first automated triple display laptop”, which will allow for a more immersive portable gaming experience. Essentially, the laptop will give users the ability to play their favorite video games with “eye-popping” 4K displays.

Here’s some of the product details:

  • 17.3 inch 4K monitor screens
  • 11520 x 2160 resolution
  • NVIDIA Surround View technology
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU

But, the new laptop provides functionality outside of gaming. The company boasts the laptop will provide an expansive workspace on three different monitors to handle any project. Including, running multiple applications at once.

Razer’s Project Ariana

While Razer has been around for the past 11 years, it is a relatively new company. The company’s CEO Min-Liang Tan and Robert Krakoff launched their first products to cater to gamers by providing devices only intended for video game enthusiasts. But, gaming laptops are not the only products the company is investing in.

At CES 2017, the company released their own virtual reality project (Project Ariana) for video games, which won the seventh annual “Best of CES” Award.

Project Ariana takes the information from the video game and projects it around the room. Min-Liang Tan called the project “the future of gaming immersion” and explains that Project Ariana allows for everyone in the room to enjoy the virtual reality experience.

Razer is able to accomplish this by using their own lighting technology along with laser sensors, 4K projectors and integrating with video games. In addition, Project Ariana also has the ability to integrate with other surround sound devices. The company plans on creating a consumer product by the end of 2017.
