Unlike previous seasons that had ten episodes, the seventh season will only have seven episodes. Moreover, the show will largely feature content currently not found in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series but will be adapted to the material from the upcoming sixth and seventh novels.

The show was adapted for TV by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The series features a large cast including Emmy award winning actors. Most notably, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headed, Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington star in the series. The new season will also introduce new characters.
