Netflix Grabs 50 Cent’s Documentary on Sexual Assault Controversy Circling Sean “Diddy” Combs

Netflix has made a noteworthy acquisition, acquiring the rights for a highly anticipated documentary produced by 50 Cent, born as Curtis Jackson. The explosively revelatory project focuses on the grave allegations of sexual assault against renowned music mogul, Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Behind the Making of the Controversial Documentary

The documentary, created under the banner of Jackson’s own G-Unit Film and Television Studios, was the subject of a massive bidding war. Many reputed networks and popular streaming giants were associated with this fervent battle. Multiple industry insiders divulged this information to TMZ. While the exact date for the highly-anticipated series remains under wraps for now, it is expected to be announced shortly.

Stepping Into an Increasingly Chaotic Scenario

The documentary’s news broke on the same day Combs found himself on the receiving end of another lawsuit. This time, former model Crystal McKinney accused the founder of Bad Boy Records of sexually assaulting her back in 2003. These allegations add to an already towering pile of severe charges against the music powerhouse.

Expressing Remorse Over a Disturbing Past

Attempting to address one of these dire situations, Combs recently issued an apology for a brutal video released by CNN. The harrowing footage features him assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in an incident that took place in a Los Angeles hotel back in 2016.

A visibly distraught Combs expressed regret over his past actions, stating, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then, when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”

Fallout Post the Incriminating Footage

Ventura had earlier accused Combs of a string of heinous crimes, including rape, sex trafficking, and physical abuse, in a lawsuit filed in November. The suit was settled out of court the very next day due to the news of the unreleased security footage. The weeks and months ensuing the settlement saw a wave of similar lawsuits being filed against Combs.

A Positive Cause Behind the Controversial Documentary

The upcoming Netflix series was first announced by Jackson himself in December. He highlighted that the earnings from the project would be dedicated to aiding victims of sexual assault and rape.

Invasion of the Law

Further escalating the issues for Combs, his Miami and Los Angeles homes were raided by federal authorities back in March. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed the operation was part of an extensive sex trafficking probe. The increasingly notorious scandal surrounding the mogul served as promotional fodder for 50 Cent.

Poking fun at the entire situation, Jackson even shared a poster captioned, “Diddy Do It?” The tongue-in-cheek remark was evidently directed towards his upcoming project, to which he added, “This is gonna break records when this drop”.

While dark clouds continue to loom over Combs, the world will keenly await the release of this groundbreaking series.
