Report: Kanye Separates with JAY-Z’s Tidal Over Money Dispute

Kanye West has reportedly separated ties to Jay-Z’s Tidal company, TMZ reports.

According to reports, Kanye West has left the company over a financial disagreement, and Tidal has threatened to sue the West. In fact, TMZ claims Kanye complained that the company owes him more than $3 million.

Our sources say a month ago Kanye’s lawyer sent a letter to Tidal, saying the company was in breach and the contract was terminated,” TMZ says in their report. “Over the next 2 weeks lawyers for both sides tried to resolve the conflict but failed. We’re told 2 weeks ago Kanye’s lawyer fired off a second letter declaring again the contract was over.”

This news comes just days after the release of Jay Z’s album 4:44, where many fans believe Jay-Z discusses his relationship with Kanye West. On the song “Kill Jay-Z”, Sean Carter raps alluding to a possible disagreement with Kanye over $20 million.

The Daily Beast reports the $20 million dollar deal could be about Kanye’s deal with Tidal, Jay-Z’s music streaming company that Kanye West was reportedly distancing himself from following the release of The Life of Pablo.

On Sunday, TMZ reported Kanye’s disagreement with Jay-Z’s streaming company centers around two issues. The first problem with Tidal is the release of Saint Pablo, which resulted in 1.5 million new subscribers to Tidal, for which Kanye West is reportedly supposed to get a bonus but, the company has not paid. The second issue with Jay-Z’s streaming company concerns music videos, TMZ reports Tidal reneged on reimbursing the rapper for his music video.  However, reports claim Kanye West did not deliver the videos required by the contract.
