It is official; the Terminator franchise is back. The sixth movie in the Terminator franchise is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2019.
Paramount Pictures made the announcement earlier this week with Linda Hamilton returning as Sarah Conor and Arnold Schwarzenegger on board to reprise his role of a killing machine.
The reboot will be the first time that Hamilton, Schwarzenegger and James Cameron will be working on the movie franchise since 1991 with the hit movie, Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
Deadpool director, Tim Miller, will direct the film. The untitled feature film will be based on a story by James Cameron and Tim MIller from a script developed by David Goyer and Josh Friedman of what is expected to launch a new trilogy.
Details surrounding the movie have not been released, while Cameron has said that the upcoming feature film will be a direct sequel to the 1991 movie, Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
Hamilton starred in the first two movies, which was first released over 30 years ago. Hamilton played Connor, a waitress who is hunted down by a killer cyborg that is sent from the future to kill her to prevent her from giving birth to the savior of the human race.
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines was the latest sequel, which was released in 2003, followed by Terminator Salvation in 2009 and Terminator Genisys in 2015.
