‘Stranger Things’ Actor Caught with Cocaine at LAX Airport

Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton has allegedly been denied entry to the United States after being caught at the airport with cocaine. The actor was flying to Los Angeles for the season 2 launch party when he reportedly been caught with the substance by drug-sniffing dogs.

US border officials denied the 23-year-old actor entry to the country last Saturday and deported him back to London where he had flown from just a few hours before, according to The Sun.

That said, the actor is missing from the premiere of the Netflix production press tour. Daily Mail also reports that his barring from entering the United States could mean his future on the show could be in trouble.

A source told the Daily Mail, “He was not arrested. He was held at the airport for a while and then put back on a plane to London that night. If you are a foreign national and it is a large amount of drugs you may be charged. But if it is personal use, the consequences are that you will not be allowed in to the country. US law is very strict on this.”

Heaton plays Jonathan Byers on the show. The new series, which debuted on Friday, October 27th, takes place a year after the first set in 1984.

The first season of the show centers around kids who started vanishing after researchers from the Hawkins National Laboratory accidentally opened up an alternate dimension. The second season will return to Hawkins around Halloween 1984 and will go into deeper detail for Will’s disappearance.
