Power Rangers Reboot is Coming Soon (Report)

Rumors surfaced Hollywood was considering working on a ‘Power Rangers’ reboot. Now, sources have surfaced claiming a ‘Power Rangers’ reboot is coming soon with Paramount Pictures.

According to reports, Jonathan Entwistle, the creator of Netflix’s ‘The End of the F**ing World’, is reportedly directing the latest Power Rangers movie, along with the writer of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’, Patrick Burleigh. The storyline and cast for the reboot have not been revealed yet. Reports note the movie will include some level of time-travel as the present-time Power Rangers travel to the future after being sent back into the 1990s.

In an interview with Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner, the intellectual property rights owners of ‘Power Rangers’, said the toy company “will work with a film studio to develop a new Power Rangers movie as a follow-up to the 2017 release.” It is not clear at the moment if the upcoming movie will be part of the Saban’s six-movie franchise or a separate Power Rangers universe.

The last ‘Power Rangers’ movie debuted in 2017 and made over $100 million at the box office. However, the filmed did not perform as expected. The film grossed $142 million worldwide against a budget of $105 million. The movie was supposed to launch a franchise with several sequels, however, that was canceled after the film’s underperformance.
