‘Samaritan’ Starring Sylvester Stallone to Film in Georgia

According to Project Casting, Sylvester Stallone’s MGM action-thriller Samaritan to film in Georgia. The new movie is set to hit theaters on December 11, 2020, with production now starting in the Peach State.

The upcoming movie will be directed by Julius Avery, who previously worked on Overlord. ‘Samaritan’ will be Stallone’s next movie following ‘Rambo: Last Blood.’ ‘Samaritan’ center around a young boy who is out to discover is a mythical superhero who exists after disappearing 20 years ago following a tragic event. Written by ‘Escape Room’ screenwriter Bragi F. Schut, the movie will be produced by Stallone’s Balboa Productions, and Schut will executive produce the project.

Stallone’s last movie ‘Rambo: Last Blood’ was a sequel to the 2008 ‘Rambo’ film. The film made over $87 million worldwide on a budget of $50 million. The previous movie starred Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adriana Barraza, Yvette Monreal, Genie Kim, Joaquín Cosío, and Oscar Jaenada.

Georgia’s film industry is booming. Other projects to film in Georgia include the previously reported Netflix big-budget project, ‘Red Notice,’ which stars Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds. Other projects include several Tyler Perry productions, and ‘Stranger Things.’

In other entertainment news, Netflix‘s new movie ‘Red Notice‘ is now casting actors to play prison guards for scenes filming in Atlanta, Georgia.
