Wilson Guzman, associate state director of engagement for the AARP, highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in consumer fraud. Scammers scan popular video platforms to simulate actors’ voices using AI technology. These voices are then used in deceptive messages intended for the general public. “Scammers aim to gain your trust and resort to impersonating well-known celebrities to do so,” Guzman explained.
