This iconic event might feel like a starry night with many of the industry’s finest names shining bright. The honoree event is all planned for October 20th, at the epic Balboa Bay Resort, Newport Beach, California.
Unwrapping The List of Honorees
Nicolas Cage, a well-known actor recognized for his bone-chilling role in Neon’s horror movie ‘Longlegs,’ is getting ready to bask in the limelight. This brilliant actor will be winning the Icon Award. Cage is not a stranger to the world of accolades. He proudly holds the prestigious Academy Award for his unparalleled performance in the 1995 film ‘Leaving Las Vegas.’ And his super performances continued in many other films including ‘Face/Off,’ ‘Vampire’s Kiss,’ and ‘Moonstruck,’ to name a few.
Think that was exciting? Let’s get to know another deserving recipient. Joan Chen is going to receive the Career Achievement Award for her creative genius behind the film, Dìdi, which won the hearts of the audience at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.
Music to Our Ears
Now, let’s talk music, shall we? Diane Warren, the talented singer-songwriter, will be winning the Lifetime Achievement in Music Award. Her mastery in music can be gauged from the impressive record of 15 Academy Award nominations. Her hit-song list includes ‘Because You Loved Me’ and Aerosmith’s ‘I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing.’
Time for More Spotlights
Speaking of spotlights, Colman Domingo is ready to bring his best. Rewarded for his work in Netflix’s ‘Rustin’ and ‘Mister,’ Domingo will receive the Maverick Award. On the other hand, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, popular for her role in ‘Secrets & Lies,’ will bag the Artist of Distinction Award.
Another name joining the league of honorees is George MacKay, winning the Spotlight Award for his role in ‘The End.’ He’s widely known for his work in the film ‘Peter Pan.’
But that’s not all. The award gala will also honor June Squibb with a Lifetime Achievement Award and Sheryl Lee Ralph with an Artist of Distinction Award.
Special Shout-outs
This festival has a unique twist with music artist Finneas O’Connell being honored on October 21. Yep, you heard it right! The man behind many popular Billie Eilish hits will receive the Outstanding Achievement in Music Award.
On the same day, Terry Crews, our beloved actor, will get recognized for his endless contributions to the arts.
