The dream of a sequel started back in 1990 when Jonathan Gems, the writer of Hamilton, came up with a fun sequel idea named ‘Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian’. Of course, this never happened. But the idea of a sequel lived on. Over time, many talented writers like Daniel Waters, Pamela Norris, Kevin Smith, Seth Grahame-Smith, and Mike Vukadinovich worked on different versions of the story.

The script finally found its lasting shape thanks to Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the creative duo behind the popular show ‘Wednesday’. What’s more exciting, the movie is being made by Brad Pitt’s film production company, Plan B. The filming started in London, then moved to Vermont and Massachusetts.
