Rhamondre Stevenson’s Contract Update

In a recent workout session, New England Patriots’ lead running back Rhamondre Stevenson opened up about the ongoing contract extension talks with his team. Stevenson, who has served as the Patriots’ lead running back for the last two seasons, hinted the lengthy negotiation process might soon conclude. He is going into the last year of his rookie deal and has expressed his desire to remain with the Patriots beyond this term.

“Right now, I’m just trying to get the deal done and get it locked in with the extension. It feels like an extension is coming,” Stevenson said, indicating a strong mutual interest between him and the Patriots in reaching an agreement. This will be his maiden contract negotiation during his time in the NFL.

Stevenson’s Impressive Run Despite Leadership Changes

Stevenson’s contributions to the Patriots’ offense in his four-year career have been commendable. With a new offensive coordinator, Alex Van Pelt, taking the helm, Stevenson could shine more in the upcoming season. “You know, we’ll see. I will say this about Rhamondre,” said Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo on the matter of contract talks. “I think he’s one of the better backs in the league, it’s no doubt about it. I think over the last few years, it’s been kind of tough on him, as far as getting started. So, I’m excited to see what he does this season.”

It seems the Patriots’ administration recognizes Stevenson’s potential and is optimistic about his future contributions. Extending his contract thus appears to be in the best interest of the team’s offense as they move forward.
