Instagram’s New Feature Allows You To Post Multiple Photos and Videos

A day after Snapchat released their Spectacles to the public, Instagram is expanding their features.

On Wednesday, Instagram launched the ability for users to post up to 10 photos or videos into a single post that friends can swipe through. Essentially, the new feature is an Instagram album that carousels around a single theme. The feature will become available to Instagram users around the world in the next few weeks.

How does Instagram’s new feature work?

To use Instagram’s new feature press a new icon on the app, which will allow you to upload multiple photos and videos at a time. Then, users can change the order of the photos, apply filters, and post a single caption. After posting the album, Instagram users will have a grid icon on the top right corner next to album posts indicating users can watch multiple posts.

Users can like and comment on multiple posts just like a regular Instagram post.

In a blog post, Instagram points out how they are constantly adding new features. “From stories to live video to posts in feed, it’s never been easier to share your experiences with your friends.”

But, Mark Zuckerberg is not stopping there. On Monday, WhatsApp announced a new feature similar to Snapchat called WhatsApp Status. Instead of users posting a status message, WhatsApp will now allow users to share photos and videos that can last for up to 24 hours. In addition, the videos can record for up to 45 seconds instead of just 10.
