The Walking Dead is in the middle of a controversy after Primark pulled a Walking Dead T-shirt after someone called the shirt “racist”.
British department store Primark discontinued sales of a t-shirt with Negan’s baseball bat Lucille and the quote “Eeny Meeny Miny Moe”, after a shopper claimed the shirt was offensive.
A shopper argued that the rhyme has a “subliminal message” because the rhyme is often followed by “catch a n***er by his toe” and not a “tiger by his toe”, as Negan says to taunt Rick in the show.
“It was fantastically offensive, and I can only assume that no-one in the process of ordering it knew what they were doing or were aware of its subliminal messages. It is directly threatening of a racist assault, and if I were black and were faced by a wearer I would know just where I stood.” one shopper said.
Meanwhile, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan on the show, had something to say about the controversy. Morgan took to Twitter and said, “Holy crap people are stupid.”

But, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is not alone. Many other people lambasted the store for pulling the T-shirt. “The progressive left has hit maximum fake racist accusation. This is disgusting, Walking dead T-shirt.. racist. Did these lefts watch show?,” one Twitter user wrote.
“Someone explain why that Walking Dead shirt is racist. been looking at it for several minutes and i don’t get it. #primark #TheWalkingDead”, another Twitter user commented on the controversy.
The Walking Dead is half-way into their seventh season and is currently the most watched show on television. In fact, the show’s latest episode had more viewers than the NBA All-Star Game.
