Misa Hylton Reacts to Ex Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Abusive Video

Misa Hylton, the fashion designer and former partner of music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, recently took to social media to address personal trauma she endures. Hylton, who also shares a son with Combs, says her ordeal was triggered by disturbing footage showing Combs assaulting singer Cassie Ventura.

In her heartfelt Instagram post, Hylton expressed her anguish and empathy for Ventura. She did not detailed her own trauma, but suggested that Combs should attend to personal development.

Misa Hylton’s Emotional Social Media Statement

In her Instagram post, Hylton said, “I am heartbroken that Cassie must relive the horror of her abuse, and my heart goes out to her. I know exactly how she feels, and through my empathy, it has triggered my own trauma.” Although she did not specify her own trauma, Hylton exclaimed her hopes for Combs to seek personal help.

Hylton accompanied her post with two pictures featuring all seven of Combs’ offspring, including her 30-year-old son with him. She indicated that these children were somewhat shielded from the long-standing negative aura surrounding the mogul.

Motherhood and Support-of-a-Kind in Combs’ Family

Hylton pointed out that the four mothers of Combs’ children have always reciprocated emotional support. The fashion designer also expressed her duty towards Combs’ young twin daughters who lost their mother, model Kim Porter, in 2018 to pneumonia.

The Trajectory of Recent Events

Her emotional outpour comes just days after CNN revealed a video showing an irate Combs assaulting Ventura in a hotel hallway in 2016. The RCA corroborates aspects of a civil lawsuit that Ventura lodged against Combs in 2021. The case was resolved within a day, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

With the video making rounds, more attention piles up on the ongoing federal sex-trafficking investigation launched against Combs. Although the video isn’t directly related, it’s sure to add urgency to the federal probe. Combs hasn’t been charged with any crime and has thoroughly repudiated any misconduct.

Subtle Rebuke of Combs?

Even though she doesn’t mention Combs directly, Hylton’s post could be taken as a subtle rebuff of him. They have remained on largely good terms, co-parenting their son, Justin. Indeed, Hylton was present at Diddy’s 50th birthday bash in 2019.

Yet, in 2023, friction surfaced between them when Justin was arrested for a DUI misdemeanor. Hylton seemed to air her grievances about Combs’ litigation against alcohol manufacturer Diageo, which he accused of racial discrimination for not promoting brands he associated with, Ciroc and DeLeon.

In the wake of the controversy, the pair appeared to make amends on Instagram, where Combs responded to a comment from Hylton saying, “I love you queen. Stay in the light.”

Despite her perturbation, Hylton’s message to Ventura and women worldwide reiterates the dire need for support and empathy in the face of trauma. Her story adds one more voice to the chorus opposing domestic violence, paving the way for more productive conversations around the issue.
