New Jewish Dating App, JEWZZ, Seeks to Reinvent Jewish Matchmaking

Founder of Matzoball Mixers Launches Matchmaking Mobile App

Andy Rudnick, a veteran party entrepreneur and founder of the renowned Matzoball events since 1987, recently unveiled his latest venture in the dating scene – a dating app developed specifically for Jewish singles named JEWZZ. The astute father of three single and actively dating daughters conducts a personal, fatherly review of all applications for the app, meticulously screening for inappropriate language, pictures, and discussions.

Purpose to Serve the Jewish Community

“I want to create a legacy that brings value and purpose to the Jewish community,” Rudnick, a Boca Raton resident, originally from Worcester, Massachusetts, expressed his aspirations for the app. JEWZZ, which debuted in April of this year, already boasts a user count of up to 6,000 members. Rudnick anticipates reaching a user base of 30,000 by Christmas Eve, in grand preparation for the next Matzoball event.

The Matzoball & JEWZZ Connection

Under Rudnick’s leadership, Matzoball events have been a significant part of the Jewish singles’ social landscape since their inception in 1987 in Boston. Subsequently expanding to Boca Raton and New York, Matzoball soon evolved into monthly social parties, culminating annually in a Christmas Eve singles party. In 1994, Rudnick prioritized these major events over the monthly mixers, finding the single events to be more financially stable.

Rudnick met his wife at one of these events in 1997, when she was working behind the bar at a Boston Matzoball party. They have since collaborated on the jewelry collection Katia Designs, where Rudnick serves as the COO.

JEWZZ Features and Functionality

JEWZZ was conceptualized following the acquisition of former partner dating apps, JSwipe and JDate, by a European company in 2015. Rudnick, envisioning JEWZZ as an essential dating tool for his attendees, facilitates interaction across the platform through live speed dates, video calling, and photo likes to initiate conversations. The app encourages users to send out date requests, either for physical or virtual meet-ups.

Popular Jewish references are scattered throughout the app and website to foster a sense of familiarity among users. It is available free for download, with basic services like video and voice chatting and a limited amount of likes and matches per day offered at no cost.

Premium membership packages are also available, providing unlimited likes, matches, and profile searches in other cities for $19.99 a week, $55 a month, $150 for six months or $199 for a year. This option also allows users to attend virtual speed dating events free of charge.

For South Floridian JEWZZ members, the annual Matzoball event is scheduled to happen on Dec. 24, offering discounted access to app users. For more information on the Jewzz app, visit Jewzz.com. To learn about the Matzoball events, go to Matzoball.org.
