Tragic Teen Shooting in The Bronx

The NYPD has released images of two individuals in connection to the horrific killing of a 16-year-old boy, Alberto “Amir” Roque. The incident happened while a group of men were playing dice outside a Bronx smoke shop on Monday evening.

The Teen’s Life Cut Short

Alberto Roque was observing the dice game on East 162nd Street, in the vicinity of Third Avenue, at around 9:05 p.m. when the suspects allegedly fired at him. According to authorities and onlookers, the teenager was quickly rushed to Lincoln Hospital. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday at 6:30 a.m.

A witness who spoke to the Daily News revealed the chilling details of the event. They said there were “a lot of shots,” further noting Amir was found on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head. Details were painful to recount, but the survivor shared how Amir was suffering, even while being transported to the hospital.

Images shared by the police depict two men suspected of the fatal shooting. These individuals were spotted a short distance from the victim when they started firing, according to the law enforcement. A disagreement preceding the attack was noted, but it’s still unclear who was the intended target of the assailants.

The surveillance footage managed to capture some aspects of the alleged shooters. They were seen strolling together in the area. Significantly, at least one of them had a large grey backpack, police said.
