Top New York Talents Set to Shine on Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2025

Brooklyn-born Garlands, Nia Long and Busta Rhymes, and Queens’ own Fran Drescher are all set to receive an enduring famous accolade. They have made it to the Class of 2025 for the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

Not Alone on This Walk to Fame

This trio of New York’s finest will join other stars like Prince, Jane Fonda, and Misty Copeland, summing up over 30 honorees. These stars are to be imprinted on the Walk of Fame, spanning across categories like movies, TV, live theatre, radio, recording, and even sports entertainment.

The Walk of Fame selection committee, exclusively made up of former recipients, announced the inductees amid a selection process from hundreds of nominees. Joe Mantegna and Niecy Nash, acclaimed actors, music producer Jimmy Jam, and Steve Nissen, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President/CEO, delivered the phenomenal news.

Nia Long Joins Elite Group in Motion Picture Category

Nia Long, having enthralled audiences in films such as “Love Jones,” “Soul Food,” and the “Best Man” series, will be entering the Walk of Fame under the motion picture category. This starry batch includes other luminaries like John Carpenter, Jessica Chastain, Bill Duke, and Jane Fonda among others.

An elated Long spoke of her mother’s belief that she would one day hold her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In a touching tribute to her supporters and her artistry, she shared on social media that her childhood dream had come true.

Fran Drescher, Known for ‘The Nanny’, Brings SAG/AFTRA to the Walk

“The Nanny” star, Fran Drescher, who also leads the SAG/AFTRA labor unions, joins the television athletes. Courtney B. Vance, Sherri Shepherd, Trey Parker, Matt Stone alongside others from the TV industry stand with the 66-year-old in this incredible achievement.

Sherri Shepherd who was initially from Chicago but now identifies as a New Yorker, hosts her talk show live from Manhattan’s Chelsea Studios.

Busta Rhymes and Others to Be Honored in Recording Category

The Brooklyn-bred Buster Rhymes, legally known as Trevor George Smith Jr., will gain his star among a superlative group. Notable names like Fantasia, Depeche Mode, The Isley Brothers, and Prince mark the recording category.

Back on Stage: Alan Cumming and Misty Copeland

For live theatre or performance, actor Alan Cumming and the groundbreaking ballerina, Misty Copeland, are set to receive their stars. For sports entertainment, soccer icon David Beckham and baseball star Orel Hershiser will be honored. In the radio category, podcaster and former “Love Line” host Adam Carolla will be the only star this year.

As of now, the dates for the star ceremonies next year are pending. They are usually announced 10 days in advance.
