Former Jackass Star Bam Margera Gets Probation After Family Fight

Breaking NewsFormer Jackass Star Bam Margera Gets Probation After Family Fight

Margera Avoids Trial with Plea Deal

Bam Margera, the ex-star of the hit show “Jackass,” won’t face a trial. Instead, the 44-year-old star will be on probation for the next six months. This is due to a recent plea deal reached in his family fight case.

Last year, when Margera was visiting his family close to Philadelphia, he was accused of assaulting his brother. He also allegedly threatened others during his visit. All this came about after a text message got the reality star riled up.

What Spurred the Altercation

The event occurred in April 2023 during Margera’s visit to his brother. The text message that upset Margera suggested he required mental health treatment. This seemed to have triggered an aggressive response from him. It led Margera to physically attack his brother and even kick down a bedroom door. All this happened before the police arrived.

During this heated moment, Margera’s brother, Jesse, suffered a ruptured eardrum. Following this episode, Margera went into hiding. The police were on the lookout for him for several days until he handed himself in.

Margera Pleads Not Guilty, Then Pleads Guilty

Margera initially pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charges made against him. These charges included simple assault and making terroristic threats. The ex-Jackass star was scheduled for a trial.

However, on the Wednesday just as his trial was about to kick off in Chester County, he switched his plea. Bam Margera pleaded guilty to lesser counts of disorderly conduct.

The Terms of the Plea Deal

With this plea agreement, Margera finds himself on probation. He will also undergo random drug testing. Failure to pass a drug test could bring about jail time for the former TV star.

Margera, on his part, admitted that this episode was a wake-up call. He stated in court that the incident helped him become sober. His acquired sobriety has not only removed him from trouble but also benefited his personal life. Margera now enjoys visitation rights with his 5-year-old son, Phoenix.

A Second Chance

In a separate case, Margera faced charges for a drunk and disorderly conduct incident. This happened outside a Pennsylvania hotel. However, in April of this same year, all charges against him in this case were dropped.

While Bam Margera’s story is fraught with controversy, it also provides a note of hope. It seems he’s using this rollercoaster of events to straighten out his life. For him, this journey brought about mandated sobriety, reconnection with his son, and a chance to evade potential jail time.

There is no doubt that his fans, friends, and family hope this is a turning point for Margera. Whether he takes advantage of this opportunity to regroup and redefine himself remains to be seen. What’s clear though, is that this saga has served to highlight the personal struggles that can often lurk behind the camera lens of reality TV stars. For Margera, though, reality goes beyond the antics on a TV show. It’s the struggles off the screen that are testing his true character.
