Levy, however, was fully on board, despite the struggle to work out a storyline. Why trouble finding a plot? Well, despite multiple brainstorm sessions and countless meetings with Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, things weren’t looking good. It got too hard to find an original storyline that wouldn’t mimic others. This struggle almost made Levy and Reynolds reconsider their decision to proceed.
Enter Hugh Jackman
But as fate would have it, Jackman stepped in at the right time. While on vacation, Jackman had a sudden desire to be part of Deadpool 3. Although conflicted about playing Wolverine again after exiting gracefully in Logan, Jackman listened to his inner voice.
Being a huge fan himself, Jackman didn’t hesitate to share his decision with Reynolds. This gave the project the breath of life it needed. Now, with the movie’s release in sight, we can see how the story behind its creation was an action-packed adventure in itself.
