Director Damien Leone has been capturing hearts (and giving goosebumps!) with his hit low-budget breakout horror film ‘Terrifier’. The first movie, with a modest budget of $55,000, managed to sweep us off our feet with its nail-biting moments. Its sequel, ‘Terrifier 2′, despite being a bit heavy on the supernatural side, raked in a whopping $15.1 million at the box office, as it kept viewers on the edge of their seats.
Who to Expect on Screen
Good news! Some familiar faces will be making a comeback in ‘Terrifier 3’. David Howard Thornton will be back as Art the Clown while Lauren LaVera returns as Sienna. Elliot Fullam will also resume his role as Sienna’s brother Jonathan. Chris Jericho from ‘Terrifier 2’ will make a cameo! Grab your popcorn as you will also see new cast members like Daniel Roebuck making his entry as Santa Claus.
Surprise in the Plot
This is where it gets super exciting! Breaking away from the Halloween theme of the earlier films, ‘Terrifier 3’ will get you into the Christmas spirit but in a rather spooky way. What’s the Mood Like?
Leone is all set to go back to his roots! He’s planning to get back the creepiness of the original ‘Terrifier’ after the second part focused a bit more on the supernatural. So, expect more of old-school, grainy, edge-of-your-seat slasher scenes taking you back to the first film.
How Much Gore is Too Much
Well, for the fans out there, there’s no such thing as too much gore! Staying true to the franchise’s tradition, ‘Terrifier 3’ promises extreme gore. With a bigger budget this time, Leone has got on board a Hollywood special effects team for some incredibly horrific scenes that they promise will be “the most insanely horrific scenes of the Terrifier franchise.”
Status of the Shoot
The shooting of ‘Terrifier 3’ started in early February 2024 and it seems like things are going smoothly for a Halloween release. Leone has shared some production photos hinting at more chills for our clown Art and his victims!
