Hey, Tulsa King fans! You definitely don’t want to miss out on this update. Season 2 is on its way and we’ve got all the deets you crave!
Inside Details on Tulsa King
Are you ready for more thrilling crime plots? The renewed season picked up traction right after season one’s debut. The mastermind behind this intense drama, Taylor Sheridan, is back with more riveting stories.
Season one’s top guy was Terence Winter. If his name rings a bell, you’ve probably seen Boardwalk Empire or The Sopranos, two of his genius works. However, there were some creative hiccups between him and Sheridan. Good news is, Winter is still involved as an executive producer.
After the dust from the 2023 disagreements settled, Winter is back in the writer’s seat from February 2024, and this time working solo from Sheridan. And guess who’s supervising the daily runnings of the show? Craig Zisk, that’s who!
Unraveling the Plot
The series centers around a Mafia guy, Dwight “The General” Manfredi. Fresh out of prison, Dwight is in Tulsa, Oklahoma trying to build a crime empire and mend fences with his daughter, Tina. Season one left us with some burning questions like: what’s next for Dwight and Stacy? And how will Chickie’s revenge plot against Dwight unfold?
A New Filming Spot
Hang on, there’s a location change for season two. Even though the plot is set in Tulsa, the production team exchanged Oklahoma’s landscapes for Atlanta’s studios. Why you ask? Atlanta offers a universe of filming resources and talent search opportunities.
Directing Season Two
Directors for season two are yet to be confirmed. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for Craig Zisk to direct a couple of episodes. But you can bet on seeing familiar faces like Lodge Kerrigan, Guy Ferland, Ben Semanoff, and Allen Coulter from season one.
Meet the New and Returning Stars
Prepare to welcome back favorites from season one like Andrea Savage, Jay Will, and Martin Starr. And prepare to meet new actors like Annabella Sciorra, Tatiana Zappardino, and Frank Grillo. A heads up for all Grillo’s fans – he’s playing Bill Bevilaqua, a Kansas City mobster whose arrival will stir up some drama for Dwight!
The Countdown Begins
Drum roll please! Filming started on April 1st, 2024, and the fantastic news is that you won’t have to wait much longer. Gear up for a September 15th premiere, as revealed by none other than Sly Stallone on his Instagram page.
