Tragedy struck near Macy’s Herald Square over the weekend. A young guy riding an electric scooter crashed into two people crossing the street on Saturday night. The police told us about this worrying event on Monday.
Injuries and Hospitalizations from Scooter Mishap
The crash wasn’t pretty at all. A man, only 51-year-old, got pretty badly hurt. The impact caused severe head injuries. The authorities transported him immediately to Bellevue Hospital, where he is in critical condition now. Not a good situation at all.
The other person, a woman who is 43 years old also got some injuries from this accident. She wasn’t as badly hurt, but still had to be taken to Bellevue for treatment. She had injuries on her face and body, but thankfully nothing life-threatening.

As per the detectives, the 23-year-old was calmly riding north on Sixth Ave. He was just near W. 34th St., keeping to the right lane, when he collided with the pedestrians. Apparently, they stepped onto the avenue right then, trying to cross the street.
