Taylor Sheridan’s Star Rise with Landman as Kevin Costner Struggles

EntertainmentTaylor Sheridan's Star Rise with Landman as Kevin Costner Struggles

Riding High: Taylor Sheridan’s Amazing Journey

Taylor Sheridan first burst onto the scene as an actor, but he has etched a place in our hearts with his brilliant screenwriting. He’s made a mark in many genres, but it’s his unique grasp on Western skits that got people talking. Thanks to the series Yellowstone, Sheridan is now a familiar face on our screens. And it looks like his new project, Landman, is going to make him even more famous.

Sure, Sheridan’s career hasn’t always been smooth sailing. He’s been compared to superstar Kevin Costner, and sometimes people overlook Sheridan’s work on Yellowstone. But with the success of his recent works Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown, Sheridan is proving the doubters wrong. He’s gearing up for tall peaks of success with Landman.

A Bright Future for Landman

Landman features a cracking cast including Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, and Jon Hamm. It’s all about the big-stakes world of Texas oil rigs. The mix of robust ambition and global concerns makes for a riveting tale. The 10-part series is based on the famous Boomtown podcast. And it’s a collaborative effort between Sheridan and Christian Wallace.

As Costner battles rough waters in the entertainment world, Sheridan glides on the smooth current towards success. With a new and exciting plot, Sheridan’s Landman promises to be a smash hit.

Kevin Costner’s Dream Project Falls Short

Sadly, Kevin Costner’s dream project, Horizon: An American Saga, isn’t doing so well. Despite Costner investing a whooping $38 million of his own money, the series isn’t getting the love it needs.

The reviews so far for the first Horizon film were not great. It hit a disappointing 48% on Tomatometer. The film’s been described as confusing and a bit of a drag, which won’t be pulling in the crowds.

In terms of cash, it’s down to Costner. Warner Bros. only chipped in for the first film’s distribution, leaving most of the financial load on Costner’s shoulders. With just $23 million back so far, the Horizon series looks to be in a bit of a tight spot.

Bumpy Road Ahead for Kevin Costner

Costner’s decision to pour his efforts into Horizon might cost him. We all loved him in Yellowstone, but this new series rocky start could worry fans. What’s next for this veteran actor and filmmaker is anyone’s guess.

As Sheridan takes giant steps towards screenwriting greatness, we can’t help but wonder what’s next for Costner. Will the rest of the Horizon series bring up his game, or cement his downfall? Only time will tell.

If you’re keen to check out these projects for yourself, Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 is showing in theaters now, and Landman is set to premiere on Paramount+ on November 17.

Taylor Sheridan and Kevin Costner’s tales are a fascinating study in highs and lows. One skyrockets to new highs with every project while the other struggles to maintain his former glory. It’ll be interesting to see where both their careers are headed. Watch this space!
