Dave Filoni’s Love for Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Do you remember Star Wars: The Clone Wars? Dave Filoni does and he loves it. In fact, he is the wizard who brought it to life. Known for his friendship with George Lucas, the man behind Star Wars, Filoni has earned much respect for creating the animated show. He made characters like Ahsoka Tano more relatable and the Clone Wars much cooler. Back in 2011, Filoni even dropped hints about a sequel. Of course, this would only happen if Lucas agreed. Fans have been waiting with bated breath ever since.
Chances and Hopes for another Clone Wars Movie
Now, we know the Clone Wars story has spread into other Star Wars shows like Star Wars: Rebels, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Bad Batch, and more. Still, Filoni’s old chat with Den of Geek got fans excited. In it, he shared his wish to make another Clone Wars film if Lucas agreed. With the Star Wars world being so vast, a sequel might bring us storylines of characters we met after the Clone Wars.
More Stories to Explore
Even though we know a lot about the Clone Wars era, there are still many unexplored paths. For instance, the story of Captain Rex. So far, pieces of his journey are spread across Filoni’s shows. Yet, a dedicated plot could capture the audience’s attention even more. We could even get to see more about what some of our favorite characters were up to after the Clone Wars.
Borrowing Ideas from The Mandalorian
Filoni might also get inspired by The Mandalorian, another hit Star Wars show. Its fresh characters and unique view of the Star Wars universe could provide ideas for his Clone Wars sequel. Like in The Bad Batch, these new characters could add more depth to the Clone Wars era.
Throwing Light on the Kamino Uprising
A potential second Clone Wars film might reveal untouched aspects of the storyline like the Kamino uprising. Despite its important role in the Legends Timeline, it’s only briefly mentioned in the current Disney timeline. If Filoni explores this in the film, it could add a new layer to the Clone Wars saga. Maybe, the clones’ phase-out by the Empire, as shown in The Bad Batch, could spark an uprising. This might even bring back the Empire, given that cloning plays a big part in Filoni’s Star Wars shows.
Wrapping Up
All Star Wars: The Clone Wars content, along with the shows it inspired, are on Disney+. As of now, we don’t know if there’ll be a second Clone Wars film. Yet, we can feel Filoni’s enthusiasm to dive back into it, which gives fans reason for hope. And for Star Wars fans, that’s a big deal. Right now, the best thing we can do is wait and see what surprises are in store for the Clone Wars saga.
