The sequel we’ve all been waiting for is here! ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’, the follow-up to Tim Burton’s iconic 1988 classic ‘Beetlejuice’, will be hitting cinemas on September 6th. And that’s not it! Creating Beetlejuice Again
The dream of a sequel started back in 1990 when Jonathan Gems, the writer of Hamilton, came up with a fun sequel idea named ‘Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian’. Of course, this never happened. But the idea of a sequel lived on. Over time, many talented writers like Daniel Waters, Pamela Norris, Kevin Smith, Seth Grahame-Smith, and Mike Vukadinovich worked on different versions of the story.
The script finally found its lasting shape thanks to Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the creative duo behind the popular show ‘Wednesday’. What’s more exciting, the movie is being made by Brad Pitt’s film production company, Plan B. The filming started in London, then moved to Vermont and Massachusetts.

Ready to call for him three times? Beetlejuice is back in his old haunt, Winter River, and he’s trouble! The Deetz family has to come back home after a sudden heart-breaking situation. This time, three generations of Deetzes are in the picture.
The plot thickens when Lydia Deetz, role played by Winona Ryder, finds herself in a mess when her challenging daughter, Astrid (starring Jenna Ortega), stumbles upon a small town model hidden away in the attic. The thing is this little town is more than a model. It’s a door to the Afterlife.
And who’s that lurking around the corner? Yes, it’s our bad-boy ghost, Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), ready to create chaos and lots of laughs if anyone dares to chant his name three times.
Meet the Star Performers
Our fan favorites, Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, are back. They’re joined by a stellar cast. Catherine O’Hara returns as Lydia’s unique stepmother Delia and Justin Theroux stars as Rory. The charismatic Monica Bellucci plays Beetlejuice’s wife and Willem Dafoe is an afterlife’s cop. There’s also Arthur Conti, but his role remains a secret for now.
