Zelensky Set to Unveil Ukraine’s Victory Plan to US Leadership First

PoliticsZelensky Set to Unveil Ukraine's Victory Plan to US Leadership First

Key Takeaways:

• Andrii Veselovskyi endorses President Zelensky’s decision to outline Ukraine’s victory plan to US leadership before its public presentation.
• The victory plan encompasses four primary points, which relate to Ukraine’s security, geopolitical location, required military support, and economic backing.
• Besides President Joe Biden, the plan will be discussed with contenders for the US Presidency, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, along with the US Congress.

Influential Diplomat Supports Zelensky’s Approach

Andrii Veselovskyi, an esteemed diplomat and adviser to the director of the National Institute of Strategic Studies, expressed his approval of the decision by President Volodymyr Zelensky to first present the plan for Ukraine’s victory to the United States leadership. He expressed these sentiments in an interview with Radio NV, as reported by Ukrinform.

Veselovskyi stated that prematurely detailing the victory plan to the public might instigate a discussion, which could be counterproductive without input from Ukraine’s strategic partners. It is essential, according to Veselovskyi, to receive their perspective before making the plan public knowledge.

A Timely Discussion on Ukraine’s Victory Plan

While speaking on the decision to present the victory plan to United States leadership, Veselovskyi stated, “Are we sure today in Kyiv, before leaving soon for the USA, that this will all be accepted as last instance truth?… Hardly.” He further explained that this process would likely spark more than just conversations between the two Presidents or their teams; it would also involve experts.

After a cycle of discussions and tweaks, the plan would shape into a feasible reality. Only then, Veselovskyi argues, it would be apt to bring the plan to the public sphere for further discussion and implementation attempts.

Strategy Highlights: Security, Geopolitics, Military, and Economic Support

As previously reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky identified the four main components of his victory plan, which he intends to present to U.S. President Joseph Biden. These components include bolstering security, recognizing the geopolitical location of Ukraine, ensuring robust military support, and receiving economic assistance.

The military support as part of the plan will provide Ukraine the strategic capacity to decide on the utilisation of certain capabilities. Zelensky, in addition to President Biden, plans to brief the plan to vice president Kamala Harris, ex-president Donald Trump, and the U.S Congress. Once these entities are well-informed, the plan will make its way into the public domain.

Veselovskyi’s endorsement of this strategy contributes to the belief that presenting the victory plan first to the US leadership before releasing it to the public is a well-calculated move. President Zelensky aims to construct a conclusive and effective strategy fueled by informed and constructive discussions among experts and leaders.

And as Ukraine continues to grapple with matters of national importance, the impending victory plan signifies a promising stepping stone towards a resolved and strengthened nation.
