T.I is heading back to the film industry as his new movie The Trap is now ramping up production in Atlanta, Georgia.
Following the news that Georgia is now the feature filmmaking capital of the world, T.I., Mike Epps, and Queen Latifah are teaming up for an upcoming indie comedy in Atlanta.
According to Project Casting, casting directors are now casting actors, models, stand-ins, and photo doubles to work on the movie.
Tip “T.I” Harris is partnering with comedian Mike Epps to star in the new movie directed by Chris Robinson. Queen Latifah and her production company Flavor Unit Entertainment are producing the movie alongside Epps and his partner at Naptown Productions, Niles Kirchner, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Also, Harris will produce the movie under his Grand Hustle Films production company along with Robinson.
The new movie centers around a man, played by T.I., who returns to Atlanta after an extended absence to help his brother, played by mIke Epps, and their mother’s run-down restaurant. Changes to their chicken recipe bring new life to the restaurant but also new problems.
Georgia’s film industry has seen a revival since the state enacted a film tax credit. Several feature films have filmed in the state including Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2, the upcoming Black Panther movie and Avengers: Infinity War. Along with hit movies, several major TV shows shoot in the state such as the most watched show on television, The Walking Dead.
T.I. has made a quick transition into acting appearing in hit movies such as Furious 7, Get Hard, The Hang Over and most recently Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.
