TechnologyGaming Dominates Kids' Holiday Wish Lists, Says Survey

Main Points:

– Roughly 76% of children desire video games during the holiday season.
– Amongst the gaming-related gifts, gaming consoles are the most popular, followed by gaming subscription services.
– Other sought-after gifts include money or gift cards, clothing, and tech gadgets.

The Joy of Video Games Dominates This Holiday Season

In the quest to find the perfect holiday gift for kids, video games have emerged as winners. Data shows that an overwhelming 76% of children are urging for video games and related products for this festive season.

Gaming Goes Beyond Just Consoles and Games

The kids surveyed, aged 10 to 17, indicated varied preferences, demonstrating that their interests encompass broad areas of the gaming domain. Gaming consoles seemed to be the most sought-after, with approximately 47% of children wishing for them. Gaming subscription services like Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PlayStation Plus subscriptions were also popular, with 43% of kids expressing a desire for them.

The demand doesn’t stop there though. About 41% of kids have consoles and gaming gear on their wish lists, while virtual currencies, such as Robux and Minecoins for games like Roblox and Minecraft, are asked by approximately 38% of children.

Sharing Games Sparks Connection

Stanley Pierre-Louis, President and CEO of Entertainment Software Association (ESA), asserted the importance of video games in creating familial bondings as well. He said, “Parents see video games as more than simply gifts. With 83% of US parents who play saying they play with their kids, games serve as a powerful tool for families to connect with each other, particularly during the holidays.”

Beyond Gaming: Other Popular Picks

While video games were the top pick, there were also a number of other requests from kids. Money and/or gift cards were the second most popular gift, with about 67% of kids asking for those presents. Approximately 66% of the kids surveyed wanted clothing and accessories, and another 62% wished for tech items such as smartwatches and phones.

Choosing the Right Gift

If you’re still unsure about what to gift your child this holiday, consider the world of video games. Whether it’s a console, a game, a gaming accessory, or a subscription to a gaming service, these options are likely to bring a lot of joy.

In Conclusion

Gifting can sometimes be a tricky task, especially when it’s for kids who want both everything and nothing at the same time. This holiday season, though, you might just win the game by considering their preferences and requests. As the figures suggest, video games are an incredibly popular choice, and they offer a diverse range of options. Look for the perfect game or accessory, and you will probably end up as the favorite gift-giver this season.
