Meet Supernatural, Your New Favorite Show

Supernatural is a well-known TV show on CW. The show stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. They play brothers who are on an exciting mission. They roam the vast expanse of America, searching for their father. He just so happens to be a skilled demon hunter. In each episode, they face a different demon. It makes for compelling TV that has viewers glued to their screens.

Eric Kripke: The Man Behind Supernatural

Did you know Eric Kripke is the one who created Supernatural? He put in a good decade to develop the show, before The WB aired it. Actually, Kripke had different plans in the beginning. He thought the two lead characters would be tabloid journalists. But, he changed his mind, leading to the Supernatural we all know and admire.

In 2010, Kripke dropped a bombshell. After running the show for five seasons, he announced he was leaving. Even though Supernatural continued for another ten years, no one knew why Kripke left. That was until 2020 when the final season sparked questions about his departure.

Why Did Kripke Leave Supernatural?

Producing 22 episodes each season is a mammoth task. Picture this. You have to come up with a gripping story for each one-hour episode. It’s a lot of work and could lead to a burnout. That’s exactly what Kripke felt. He was worried about the quality of his work, and feared creative exhaustion.

Hearing talks about the studio potentially continuing Supernatural without him, Kripke decided it was best to leave. But, he wanted to make sure he left the show in good hands.

Sera Gamble Steps Up To The Plate

Finding a successor for his role brought Kripke to Sera Gamble. Kripke noticed Gamble shared his love for Supernatural. He believed she could refresh the show and add new life to it.

Gamble took on the challenge. She ran Supernatural until its seventh season. Then she hopped onto other popular titles, like The Magicians and You on Netflix.

Life After Supernatural for Kripke

Kripke didn’t press pause on his creative pursuits after departing Supernatural. He kept coming up with grand ideas and producing amazing shows. One of his latest shows is The Boys. And guess what? The Boys is also set to end after its fifth season, just like Kripke’s stint on Supernatural.

Supernatural still holds a special place for fans all around the world. It’s available for streaming on Netflix, allowing viewers to enter the captivating world of the Winchester brothers, even after its curtain call after fifteen seasons. Kripke’s decision to leave might have been hard. But his impact on this popular show still shines brightly in its legacy.Check the full story on https://projectcasting.com/blog/news/supernatural-eric-kripke-departs-after-five-seasons-for-fear-of-slipping-in-quality
